NEWS RELEASE
– URGENT NOTICE TO ALL LLWS CUSTOMERS –
WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES IN EFFECT
June 25, 2021 thru June 29, 2021
Lake Limerick Water Customers:
Due to severe weather conditions, reduced water pumping capabilities caused by unexpected pump site breakdowns and in compliance with the WA State and US EPA Guidelines for the preparation of water shortage response plans , LLWS is enacting strict water conservation measures with a goal of a 20% reduction in water usage.
We need the help of all members during the extremely hot weather forecast for the next week.
WATER CONSERVATION REGULATIONS ARE NOW IN EFFECT:
- All lawn, landscape, or other turf area shall not be watered during these dates. This includes gardens (EXCEPT: Hand watering of gardens is allowed between the hours of 9 to 11pm.) Using water for recreation pools and sprinklers is prohibited.
- There shall be no washing of sidewalks, walkways, buildings, walls, patios, driveways, parking areas or other paved surfaces, or walls, except to eliminate conditions dangerous to public health or safety or when required as surface preparation for the application of architectural coating or painting.
- Washing of motor vehicles, trailers, boats, and other types of equipment is prohibited.
- No water shall be used to clean, fill or maintain levels of decorative fountains, ponds, lakes or other similar aesthetic structure unless such water is part of a closed recycling system.
- All water users shall properly repair all leaks from indoor and outdoor plumbing fixtures.
- The owner of rental property must notify their tenants and guests of these necessary compliance measures.
Please be aware that the LLWS has a Waste of Water Policy that is always in effect and a fine can be charged for the misuse of water.
WASTE OF WATER POLICY:
Washington (WA) law prohibits the unreasonable use of water and requires that the LLWS take all appropriate actions to prevent such waste and unreasonable use of this finite resource. Wasting water during this emergency conservation notice period shall constitute a nuisance condition as defined in the Lake Limerick Country Club (LLCC) Declarations of Restrictions and may result in loss of “Member in Good Standing” status as defined by the Bylaws. Misuse of water can result in LLWS turning off your water supply and assessing fines.
We are all in this together and need everyone’s support to conserve water.
Note: The Lake Limerick Golf Course uses lake water that is independent from the LLWS.
