At this time of year, illegal fishing in Lake Limerick has historically been a significant problem. As a reminder, fishing does not officially begin until WDFW’s opening of lowland lakes on April 27th. Any fishing prior to this date is categorized as poaching and subject to WDFW corrective action (fines, loss of gear, loss of future privileges, other). From a community perspective, we invest funds in planting fish in support of our derby and subsequent spring member fishing. Illegal fishing basically steals fish we paid for.
