Mason Co. Burn Restriction in Effect 06/06/2023

In accordance with a policy adopted by the Mason County Commissioners to be consistent with the Dept. of Natural Resources and restrict certain burning activities when the National Fire Danger Rating System is at a moderate level, effective 1201 AM on June 6, 2023, land clearing and residential burning shall be prohibited on all Mason County lands not under DNR or Federal jurisdiction. Please note that recreational burning (I.E., cooking fires using charcoal or firewood in a metal, concrete or rock circle no larger than 3 feet in diameter) is still permitted although it is anticipated as warmer weather continues, this activity will be restricted in the near future. Your cooperation in keeping Mason County fire safe is appreciated.
