**Important Notice: Mason County Burn Restrictions in Effect**

We want to inform you that as of 07/11/2024, the State Commissioner of Public Lands has officially proclaimed the implementation of burn restrictions in Mason County, effective immediately. These restrictions are put in place to ensure the safety of our community and the preservation of our natural environment.

**Duration and Scope of the Restrictions:**

The burn restrictions will remain in effect through September 30, 2024. However, it’s important to note that this timeframe may be subject to alterations based on the prevailing fire conditions. This means that the restrictions could potentially be lifted earlier or extended, depending on the evolving situation.

**Types of Outdoor Burning Restricted:**

Under these restrictions, all outdoor burning activities are prohibited, including campfires and the use of charcoal briquettes in any outdoor setting.

**Exceptions to the Restrictions:**

While these restrictions apply to most outdoor burning activities, certain exceptions are made.

Specifically, pizza ovens, smokers, propane fire pits, and propane BBQs are exempt from these burn restrictions.

**Rationale Behind the Restrictions:**

The decision to impose these burn restrictions is a proactive response to the ongoing threat posed by multiple wildfires that are currently active across the state.

By adhering to these restrictions, we can collectively contribute to minimizing the risk of wildfires and protecting our community from potential harm.

**Request for Cooperation:**

We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding in adhering to these burn restrictions.

Your support and compliance are crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in Mason County.

Thank you for your attention, and let’s work together to keep Mason County safe from the risks of wildfires.
