About the LLCC Water Department
The Lake Limerick Water Department plays a vital role in supporting our community, ensuring that every household has access to a safe and reliable water supply. What began as a single well serving the early camping lots has grown into a modern, well-managed system designed to meet the needs of today’s members.
Leadership & Oversight
The Water Committee is made up of dedicated volunteers who give their time and expertise to keep our system running smoothly. Their commitment ensures that decisions are made with the best interests of our community in mind.
Day-to-day operations are managed by Chris McMullen, Water System Manager, who brings over 35 years of professional water system experience. His expertise, combined with the guidance of the committee, ensures that our water remains clean, safe, and dependable.
Oversight and regulatory compliance are provided by multiple agencies, including the Washington Department of Health, the Department of Ecology, and Mason County, ensuring that we meet or exceed state and local standards.
Our Water System Today
- 7 Active Wells pumping a combined 944 gallons per minute
- 478,800 gallons of storage capacity to meet community demand
- Reserve well sites in place for future growth and backup supply
Tax Status
The Lake Limerick Water Department is classified as a nonprofit water distribution system. This means the infrastructure—such as wells, pumps, tanks, and distribution lines—is tax-exempt under state law. This nonprofit status helps keep costs lower for our members while ensuring that funds are reinvested directly into maintaining and improving our water system.
Running our own water system requires both strategic planning and daily effort. Thanks to professional management and strong community support, Lake Limerick continues to enjoy a dependable source of water—one of our most valuable resources.
